Say hello to Bella, our 7-week old German Shepherd. We just got her yesterday. With a dozen chicks arriving the week after next, we thought it would be fun to add a brand new puppy into the mix also !
I hope Bella becomes a good farm dog. My two golden retrievers cannot be trusted around the chickens unfortunately. We can only let them out on a leash or after the chickens have gone to roost in the coop.
We had to put our beloved German Shepherd, Maxwell, to sleep 2 years ago. He was 12. I still miss him terribly.
Our Shepherd Sadie was great with the chickens, never bothered them at all. Now they have a completely enclosed yard so even if Bella is outside she can't get to them fortunately. It will take some time to see how she is around them. Right now she's concentrating on terrorizing our cat.
Awww, Bella is so cute. Glad to see her up and about getting used to her new family and new surroundings :) Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie. She's certainly active. Good thing Mark took off today, Bella only slept about 4 hours last night. We're exhausted.
